Acts 5:25-39 25. Then someone arrived with startling news: “The men you put in jail are standing in the Temple, teaching the people!” 26. The captain went with his Temple guards and arrested the apostles, but without violence, for they were afraid the people would stone them. 27. Then they brought the apostles before the high council, where the high priest confronted them. 28. “Didn’t we tell you never again to teach in this man’s name?” he demanded. “Instead, you have filled all Jerusalem with your teaching about him, and you want to make us responsible for his death!” 29-32. But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority. The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead after you killed him by hanging him on a cross. Then God put him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Savior. He did this so the people of Israel would repent of their sins and be forgiven. We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.” 33. When they heard this, the high council was furious and decided to kill them. 34. But one member, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, who was an expert in religious law and respected by all the people, stood up and ordered that the men be sent outside the council chamber for a while. 35-39. Then he said to his colleagues, “Men of Israel, take care what you are planning to do to these men! Some time ago there was that fellow Theudas, who pretended to be someone great. About 400 others joined him, but he was killed, and all his followers went their various ways. The whole movement came to nothing. After him, at the time of the census, there was Judas of Galilee. He got people to follow him, but he was killed, too, and all his followers were scattered. So my advice is, leave these men alone. Let them go. If they are planning and doing these things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. But if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!”
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9, 10 9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you’ve never accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I urge you to do so by praying the following prayer:
Lord, Jesus Christ, I am lost without You. I confess my sins to You. I need You in my life. I need You as my personal Savior. I believe that You died so that my sins could be forgiven. I believe that You were resurrected from the dead on the third day, and that you are now seated at the right hand of the Father. I accept your gracious offer of Salvation. Please lead me in the paths of righteousness for your name’s sake. Amen.
Welcome to the family. Now that you share in the inheritance of the saints in Light, I urge you to join a Bible-based church that teaches the Bible and worships Jesus. Tell others that you’ve accepted Jesus as your personal Savior. Speak to the Lord daily. Read the Bible daily, and meditate on the Scriptures. Any one of the four gospels would be a good place to start: Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Listen for the voice of Jesus, that is, take note of how your life changes because of your obedience to Him. He is in complete control! God bless.
How To Have Jesus' Divine Nature
II Peter 1:1-10
1. Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
